If you already have installed and set up your Drupal 8 site, the next important thing you need to do is to understand the administration toolbar. Login to your Drupal 8 site and you'll be able to see the administration toolbar at the top of your browser.
On the black section of the administration toolbar, you will see the Manage, Shortcuts, and User tabs. Each tab contains links to Drupal 8 site features, which will be displayed within the white section.
This contains all the links where you can access most of the features of your Drupal 8 site. Clicking on the Manage tab will display the following links below.
This is where you can manage all of the content pages of your Drupal 8 site.
This is where you can manage the fundamental building blocks of your Drupal 8 site. This is where you can configure blocks, content types, Menus, Taxonomy, Contact forms, and more.
This is where you manage the design features of your Drupal 8 site. This is where you can select which themes to use and configure page elements, logo, favicon and more.
This is where you can add or disable features to your Drupal 8 site. This is where you will be able to install, uninstall and set up Drupal modules.
This is where you can configure the main features of your Drupal 8 site. This is where you can configure account settings, text formats and editors, system settings, file systems, and more.
This is where you can manage all of the users added or registered on your Drupal 8 site. This is where you can also create roles and assign role permissions to access or do specific features to your site.
This is where you can check the overall status and health of your Drupal 8 site. This page will help you identify if there are any problems, or provide useful information that can help you fix your site.
This is where you can find documentation links of different features of your Drupal 8 site. If you want to learn more about specific features of Drupal 8, this is the place where you may want to look at.
This contains links that were set as shortcuts. Add content and All content shortcuts are added by default.
You can add or edit shortcut links by clicking on the Edit shortcuts link located at the right corner of the white area.
User Tab (ryangambito)
This is the username you've added during the installation process of Drupal 8. This tab contains links that will allow you to View profile, Edit profile, and Log out.
There are a couple of other important things you need to know when using the administration toolbar
- If you click each tab repetitively, this will hide and show the white section.
- Clicking on the bar and arrow icon, located at the right corner of the white section, will transfer the administration toolbar to the left side.
- When the administration toolbar is on the left side, clicking on the bar and arrow icon again will transfer the administration back at the top of the page.
